Tara sent me this tidbit from Realtor Magazine:
The Lakeview neighborhood on the north side of Chicago was once considered an affordable alternative to the Lincoln Park area to the south, but not anymore. Some single-family homes in Lakeview are now selling for more than $2 million, says Charles Huzenis, president of Jameson Realty Group, a real estate company active in the Lakeview neighborhood. In 2004, homes there sold for an average of $860,980, a 14 percent jump from the previous year, according to the Chicago Association of REALTORS. Condominiums sold for an average of $344,313 in 2004, a 6 percent gain over 2003.
Ron, honey, there’s no way in hell I’m buying a condo down here. F that!
