FL Judge Ignores Law, Forces 13 Year Old to Have Baby

A pregnant 13-year-old girl in Florida has been told she cannot have an abortion because she lacks the maturity to make such a decision. The judge’s ruling comes in spite of Florida state law which specifically does not require a minor to seek parental consent before an abortion.

A judge decided to chuck state law and all existing policy and force this girl to term. You don’t have to have parental consent to begin a pregnancy, you shouldn’t have parental consent to end it (or deliver it to term). Her maturity is moot – her body is mature enough.
