An Inconvenient Truth

We’re completely fucked.

There’s no bones about it. This planet, this country is completely screwed in so many ways and unless Americans wake up and smell the glaciers melting.

Al Gore helped spearhead the first Congressional hearings on global warming in the 70s and made it a centerpiece of his bid for president in the 90s and later in the 2000 election. He’s basically going for broke – I think after the 2000 election he’s thinking Okay, screw it all let’s just go crazy. And he’s back with a slideshow.

Yes, a slideshow presentation. That will scare the hell out of you.

An Inconvenient Truth is Gore’s presentation he’s given 1000 times all over the world and this film is a documentary of his journey back to the spotlight as a crusader for the environment. Gore is able to take a complex, multifaceted topic and piece-by-piece take it apart and explain it with a wealth of data and examples that illustrates the brink we balanced on. And with each new graph or video you get the sinking feeling that until folks feel urgent pain, nothing is going to be done and by then it might be too late.

Al, I probably can never forgive you for steamrolling the results of the 2000 election and not counting ever vote. BUT: I will take you over Hillary ANYDAY.
Al, I will support you if you come to the forefront again – you have nothing to lose anymore – go for broke – balls to the wall. Just count every vote this time and wait wait wait wait wait for the final tally.
