Tamika [Huston], 24, disappeared nearly a year ago from her home in Spartanburg, S.C. Her car was discovered at a Spartanburg apartment complex about a month after she was last seen… young, sparkling, beloved, beautiful and gone without a trace. Tamika is black. Could it be that a black woman’s life is just not thought to be as valuable as that of her white peers? Is black tragedy not as tragic? Is black trouble not as troubling? Is black sorrow not as sorrowful?

I flipped this another way – I looked at what if a man had pulled this kind of bullshit. It wouldn’t have been as big a story. The possible victimization of men is much less of a ratings boost than the victimization of white women (perhaps by those pesky un-white people). This story feeds into the myth of the Hysterical Woman. That, at the foundation, women are inherently unpredictable, aloof and flighty – and shouldn’t be held accountable for their actions in the same way that men are.

I say charge her to the hilt. Throw her ass in prison. She wasted valuable law enforcement resources with this little Julia Roberts fantasy. It isn’t funny. It isn’t cute.

And Jason Mason. Brother: you better get the hell out of this marriage any which way you can because in 1 year you are gonna relive this nightmare all over again when you guys divorce.
