Revisiting Leviticus

Why would a moral sin be plopped down in the middle of a manual of how to perform a ritual in the Temple? … However, how do you tell the difference? And if you can’t tell the difference, how do you assign importance? Most importantly, how do you decide what to take literally and what to set aside as merely a function of a long-since-passed ritual?
