After the Great Depression every said 'Well that sure sucked-' and they passed the Glass-Steagall Act separating investment banking (aka gambling) from commercial banking (consumers- real people) to reduce the exposure of speculation to consumers. It was repealed during the Clinton era. Maybe after Great Recession we need to put these protections back in place. Sign the petition at if you agree:
