The most captivating thing about Posterous when it launched was the email-based signup where you simply emailed them and within seconds your blog was created and ready for posting. They also did a lot of focus on 'posting by email' which was in the right direction of 'consumers need super simpler things (like Twitter) and the easier and less explanation and the more it looks like something they already do- the better.' http://blog.posterous.com/thanks-from-posterous
