Nagasaki Aftermath Journalism Released

When the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki, journalists accounts of the carnage were heavily censored to prevent Americans from realizing the scope of the destruction. The stories have been released:

The U.S. government at the time wanted to play down the effects radiation had on health and feared that Weller’s story would affect American public opinion and it possibly affected development of a nuclear arms race.
