Half of Americans Remain Fucking Stupid

Nice:

Did Saddam Hussein’s government have weapons of mass destruction in 2003? Half of America apparently still thinks so, a new poll finds, and experts see a raft of reasons why: a drumbeat of voices from talk radio to die-hard bloggers to the Oval Office, a surprise headline here or there, a rallying around a partisan flag, and a growing need for people, in their own minds, to justify the war in Iraq.

Adding a quick update quote:

The reality in this case is that after a 16-month, $900-million-plus investigation, the U.S. weapons hunters known as the Iraq Survey Group declared that Iraq had dismantled its chemical, biological and nuclear arms programs in 1991 under U.N. oversight.

Sorry – gotta add a third update quote that helps explain why people remain insane/confused:

Sen. Santorum and Rep. Hoekstra, released an intelligence report in Washington saying 500 chemical munitions had been collected in Iraq since the 2003 invasion. But the Pentagon and outside experts stressed that these abandoned shells, many found in ones and twos, were 15 years old or more, their chemical contents were degraded, and they were unusable as artillery ordnance.

I love it, you are right oh so right. The sillyness that permiates our nation has come to a head. It would seem that millions of people seemed to miss the boat. Seemed to just not want to hear what our soldiers are telling them.

Talk to some vets, someone who has worked with the NBC operations in Iraq and you will learn something. Iraq HAD WMD. No questions asked. Nobody wants to hear it. Nobody wants to hear it and alot of people like to as it was said above follow the SP drum beat.

So if you want to know the truth go to the source. Talk to a vet. Ask a question of those who have been there. Ask the people who are trained and paid to do just what you want to know about and i think that you and many others would be shocked.

Did/Does Iraq have WDM? We’ll never be able to know for sure. We went thru several months of diplomatic wrangling prior to going in leaving plenty of time to bury equipment, produce, research materials in an ocean of sand. Don’t forget that after the last time, we found servicable aircraft buried in the sand. The country is primarily a big sand pit and digging/burial activities are removed after the next sandstorm.

Iraq HAD WMD. No questions asked. Nobody wants to hear it.

Actually, everybody wanted to hear it, right? And that’s why the Niger documents were forged and we get the Downing Street Memo – and the purposeful confusion of 9/11-Saddam. It’s the babies in incubators again. It’s the Pentagon Papers again.

And the big gazillion dollar question was if Saddam had WMDs, why didn’t he use them? I remember thinking that on the road to Baghdad some kind of massive slaughter was going to take of US troops from Iraqi WMDs.

Or is it the underlying fear that American went to war for no good reason?

It wasn’t blood for oil – it is blood for oil prices. Too much oil is locked in the land to have a hairtrigger nutcase playing with the global oil market. If we can keep the oil in the ground then Exxon gets to achieve ever higher quarterly earnings.

I think it’s funny that Jonathan read things that half of Americans who think Iraqi didn’t have WMDs are stupid and I think that half that did think they did are stupid.

We could have known for sure – if the inspections had been allowed to work. There was never an imminent threat. But the Bush Doctrine states that we can decide the threat ourselves, take unilateral action, whenever and whereever. Trouble is what’s good for the goose is good for the gander/USA. Who’s to object when a country attacks us with those same justifications?

Even if Saddam had WMD, in no way or form did the U.S have the right to invade and occupy Iraq. America is NOT the global police, and if you all think back to 2001, all this shit was about “terrorism” what ever the fuck that is… please somebody give me a definition of a “terrorist”. Giving “terrorist” a definition is like trying to define “nationalism”. if a small group of americans, lets say 1,000, KKK members flew over to Egypt and blew up something, would that justify full scale invasion on the U.S? And if they did invade would you all fight?
We all know why were over there… it’s not a secret… we can’t parade around yapping about global economics and oil through our fat shit filled mouths because it makes Americans look like assholes. So lets all rally around and make up a few more buzz words, hate on some more innocent people, and globalize this doomed ass planet so we can all cum a few more times.

Terrorism is the new bugaboo to silence discussion. So you have…

    Well what about terrorists?

    or

    What about the children?

When those are the main tools to strip away context and debate you know that the argument is flawed.
