Colin Powell

I hold Powell in pretty high esteem – but I guess it’s a comparison thing. And I feel sorry for him for having his credibility and reputation cashed in by the Bush administration at the UN (but then I think why am I feeling sorry for such a powerful man?). But a little digging found some past ghosts in Powell’s record (stuff I’m sure came up during his nomination but I wasn’t tracking politics too tightly back then). I didn’t realize his connection to the My Lai massacre, killing civilians, Iran-Contra, Panama and the Gulf war.
