Closed Mind

I had an illuminating experience on our flight back. Ron and I had stopped so he could smoke a cigarillo in the parking lot of Midway and a guy came by with a broom and one of those dustpans on a stick thingies. He was a guy that I always see at the Caribou all dressed up and wearing glasses and looking intellectual and affluent. I totally felt incredibly shallow as my perspectives of him clashed and I could see my classist thinking set in. What shame is there in being a janitor? When you’re a kid I guess you always see them at school and they always see like such a regrettable job. But you know what? He’s got a job and I don’t so I should shut up. Plus he gets to be outside for a lot of the day and enjoy the weather. Sometimes I’m so close minded.
